I know nothing about cosplay. All I know is that I got back from a 5 hour role-play session in which I stayed in character and kept his personality consistent and appealing.
And, having played and enjoyed Final Fantasy X-2, I know this is a character that rightfully got a lot of fans. She's a girly-girl in some ways, playful but really, really tough. Sometimes even spoiling for a fight.
I assume that creates some challenges for the cosplayer. There are plenty of fans who just see the girly-girl and playful aspects, and think "being tough" is just a fantasy projected onto those. Not so. In terms of story, Rikku's youthfulness and constancy are part of Yuna's growth.
The costume is great. It definitely captures Rikku's spirit, especially considering the pose you chose. The weapons and the crouched stance she uses are important, but while missing, you do give the impression she's a thief or very dexterous. I wish you smiled more. I think what most fans like about Rikku is that she's smiling and laughing and having fun while Yuna and Paine are far, far more somber.
Love it. In this one, you almost look a little afraid. There is nothing to be afraid of. Rikku is a fun, out-going, and charismatic character. I like the whole shot. You look amazing. Even if you don't have the contacts, you used what you had, and it came out perfect! I love the pose and how you have your arms in the Rikku "famous pose!" Overall, the shot is spectacular, and your look is just so authentic. I've seen a lot of cosplayers try the "Rikku" look, but they don't have it. Again, amazing shot. The only small thing is the expression. I love this whole thing!!
